Our Story
A message from Beth Lloyd
High Balsam Farm originated as a vision to build community around sustainability. The unique nature of the land around the creek with various microclimates allows for rich potential endeavors and growth. In line with permaculture practices, we grow unique mushrooms, specialty floral and fresh greens that combine culinary delicacy, education and gathering opportunities. We acknowledge that the land on which we farm was sacred to indigenous people and was violently stolen from their tribes.
As a female farmer, Beth brings a background of working in mental health and science with a life long growing history. She hopes to embody a spirit of generosity in educating others about permaculture, mycology and the occupation of being human. It is her sincere hope that everyone who comes to the farm leaves richer in connection, agency and sovereignty by being apart of happenings in the farm community. High Balsam Farm makes everything in small batches from our home base in Lakewood, Colorado. Items are are grown with care, packaged with love and available for you and your family to enjoy.

High Balsam Farm produces fresh, organic produce from a local, female farmer in Colorado.
We want to give our customers fresh, vibrant and tasty mushrooms, striking blooms and greens, locally made goods, and share them with the community. Live-work internships, volunteer opportunities, and event participation are opportunities to get involved with High Balsam Farm.
